Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Toledo came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. David Aranda hit a great ball. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 7 minutes, Adria Bielsa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adria Bielsa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Adria Bielsa came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Alexander Bottone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gabriel Ascaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Fiorentino in the 13th minute of play. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Toledo in the 21st minute of play. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matias Ferrandis hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. David Aranda took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Rotili. Alvaro Rotili dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Aranda in the 39th minute of play. Spain were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after A.S. Udinese's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Omar Toledo took the corner. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Fiorentino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Toledo took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Rotili. Alvaro Rotili dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. A.S. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was substituted for Ercole Fiorentino. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Adria Bielsa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute, Adria Bielsa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spain fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Aranda in the 59th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute Omar Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Omar Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Alvaro Rotili. A.S. Udinese's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. A.S. Udinese's Alexander Damiani was substituted for Bruno Maranzano. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adria Bielsa in the 73rd minute of play. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save A.S. Udinese from getting a goal against them. Alexander Bottone kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Alvaro Rotili made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carles Cherro in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute Carles Cherro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spain's Sergio Ruiz was substituted for Adria Bielsa. Spain's Pau Herrero was substituted for David Aranda. In the 94th minute, Carles Cherro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spain fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. Carles Cherro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Alvaro Rotili made a huge save. Spain played a much better game than A.S. Udinese and deserved their victory. The A.S. Udinese players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
