A sloppy throw-in by Marvin Harrer in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Eendracht Vooruit's Albertus Maenhout. After a rather tough play, Austria's Leonhard Maier got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 34 played minutes Eendracht Vooruit got a freekick which was hit by Yanick Neef. In the 35th minute, Sandro Galishoff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Fabio Schneider left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Eendracht Vooruit's Teun Ceustermans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Schneider in the 44th minute of play. A collision led to Eendracht Vooruit getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Paulus Volders hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Armand Pelsers made the kick off in the second half. Marvin Harrer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eendracht Vooruit's Adam Beckers quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nico Waismann, made in the 79th minute of the game. Eendracht Vooruit's Teun Ceustermans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Eendracht Vooruit from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Jonas Nalder reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Teun Ceustermans. The goal made the score 0-6. In the 86th minute Fabio Schneider shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teun Ceustermans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Andre Parmentier threw the ball into play from the sideline. Austria's Leonhard Maier quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Teun Ceustermans was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Fabio Schneider capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fabio Schneider really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. With a little luck, Eendracht Vooruit's Teun Ceustermans got control of the ball when Sandro Galishoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. Austria's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
