Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off which started today's match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ximenes Castilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 4th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Pepe Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Ainar Põld notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raimundo Frans kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Ainar Põld left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Pepe Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ainar Põld could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. 28 minutes into the game, Ximenes Castilla recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Ximenes Castilla showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Independiente's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Independiente's goalie and right to Wim Wilmes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Independiente's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ximenes Castilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ximenes Castilla in the 37th minute of the match. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. If Sören Bengtsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Pepe Santoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ximenes Castilla made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Pepe Santoro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 53 minutes Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Pepe Santoro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 57th minute. Independiente's Sören Bengtsson got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Pepe Santoro made a huge save. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Rito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pepe Santoro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Independiente made a substitution. Emánuel Borsó replaced Ainar Põld. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepe Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Pepe Santoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Egbert Nijveldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arsenio Rito in the 86th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Abadia kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. A hard shot 89 in the game by David Eikelkamp from a close distance when the talented Pepe Santoro managed to make a qualified save. Independiente's players were relieved. David Eikelkamp had several of the Independiente's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 89 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-2 score and a disappointed Pepe Santoro as he didn't even see the shot coming. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emánuel Borsó in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Independiente fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherlands had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
