Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Bas Tuitert was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. After a long run with the ball, Joaquin Ledesma did a trick in the 11th minute in front of Netherlands's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-0. An impressive performance by Gold Army 1923's Joaquin Ledesma! Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Hasan Ali Suel tried to sneak it across the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peter Schmeichel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hasan Ali Suel in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hasan Ali Suel in the 32nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. David Eikelkamp hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Schmeichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Peter Schmeichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Ledesma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hasan Ali Suel to strike the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Ledesma kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Schmeichel having to interfere. With his leg Peter Schmeichel managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Netherlands's David Eikelkamp fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Peter Schmeichel could save by the left post. 70 minutes into the game, Semail Gökdoğan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peter Schmeichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Peter Schmeichel in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Gold Army 1923's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peter Schmeichel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Peter Schmeichel however easily saved by the left post. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
