In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ruscova's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Çetin Kantürk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Claes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The corner ended in Çetin Kantürk almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgium's Casper Claes did a great save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Çetin Kantürk to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Ruscova's Marcu Iovan got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 53rd match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sander Dermaut to maneuver through the defense. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Çetin Kantürk, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helmuth Duckadam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 74th minute Fausto Ferrante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Harbuz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Casper Claes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st match minute, FC Ruscova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Aurelianu to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the match, FC Ruscova's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Helmuth Duckadam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Belgium players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented FC Ruscova from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
