After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Valdir Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Valdir Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Valdir Marquez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Fonso Zotillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fonso Zotillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir Marquez. 24 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Fonso Zotillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Patrick Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malte Schiele during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Fonso Zotillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to XV de Piracicaba getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Patrick Leite hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Montoia in the 43rd minute of the match. Valdir Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Trigo. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdir Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute Vivaldo Sá suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Sven Krakouer's late challenge caught a XV de Piracicaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven Krakouer helped the player get up and apologised. Sven Krakouer hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute Valdir Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Frank Sachs fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Marquez in the 81st minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. XV de Piracicaba's Gonçalo Brasil was substituted for Valdir Marquez. After 87 minutes, Frank Sachs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the XV de Piracicaba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Frank Sachs. After 91 minutes, Vivaldo Sá made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Germany's Tommy Kahn tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 94 minutes, Severino Capixaba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the XV de Piracicaba and the Germany players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, XV de Piracicaba's Severino Capixaba got a free kick in the 94th minute.
