Wincent Dropinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Toledo in the 2nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Stefano in the 4th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 7th minute of play. Gabriel Ascaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, José Pedro Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adria Bielsa in the 13th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Wincent Dropinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Alfredo Stefano took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gabriel Ascaso to make any attempt to save it. Alfredo Stefano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Ascaso having to make a save. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Stefano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Omar Toledo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wincent Dropinski having to make a save. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Toledo came free, but Wincent Dropinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Alfredo Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Omar Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Alfredo Stefano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Stefano to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Omar Toledo put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Wincent Dropinski. In the 74th minute of the game Jon Cubero made a throw-in which Adria Bielsa played forward. Spain's Sergio Ruiz was substituted for Adria Bielsa. After 78 minutes Castanheiro SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jon Cubero who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Spain's corner Jonathan Criado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wincent Dropinski quite easily take care of the ball. Spain's Jonathan Criado was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Ruiz in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wincent Dropinski saved Castanheiro SC from getting behind. A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jonathan Criado hit a great ball. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Wincent Dropinski got control of the ball when Carles Cherro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 90 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Criado. The supporters of Spain booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Spain could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Castanheiro SC throughout the match.
