After some careless play in the Ágætis Byrjun defense, Antal Valentin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serge Buring. The Ágætis Byrjun fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serge Buring should have stopped the shot. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Buring having to interfere. When Mathijs Looze fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ágætis Byrjun's protests and gave Mathijs Looze a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Mathijs Looze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the game, Hungary's Major Barna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serge Buring made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Buring having to interfere. In the 21st minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serge Buring saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serge Buring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laurens Waterman charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurens Waterman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Laurens Waterman hit a great ball. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Serge Buring didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Gerrie Kuijsten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Fodor Daniel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 37th match minute, Ágætis Byrjun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jurgen Oorschot to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Hungary booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jurgen Oorschot didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Antal Valentin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Serge Buring was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Serge Buring tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 minutes, Jurgen Oorschot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ágætis Byrjun and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jurgen Oorschot hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Serge Buring in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serge Buring made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 66th minute. Maurice Haydon's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurice Haydon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hungary booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurice Haydon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ágætis Byrjun's zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Buring came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerrie Kuijsten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 83rd minute of the match, Major Barna got a very nice opportunity to score, but Serge Buring was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 86 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Ágætis Byrjun's Serge Buring. Serge Buring was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Ágætis Byrjun's Jurgen Oorschot got a free kick in the 94th minute. Hungary played a much better game than Ágætis Byrjun and deserved their victory. The Ágætis Byrjun players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
