Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Suleiman Süleyman got free with Arnout Reekers in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute of the match Peretu City 09 got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florin Răducioiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peretu City 09's Florin Răducioiu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 5th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Toldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 7th minute of play forced Peretu City 09's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 10 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gust Ennemans. Suleiman Süleyman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. When Petter Mårtensson fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peretu City 09's protests and gave Petter Mårtensson a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Peretu City 09 got a freekick which was hit by Petter Mårtensson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 16th minute of play forced Peretu City 09's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Francesco Toldo. Francesco Toldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mei Chong Kang in the 20th minute of play. Francesco Toldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25thth minute of the game Suleiman Süleyman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Suleiman Süleyman in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. 37 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Mei Chong Kang came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 played minutes Peretu City 09 got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Buhăescu. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in David Eikelkamp heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Suleiman Süleyman made the kick off in the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Francesco Toldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Suleiman Süleyman in the 55th minute of play. With a little luck, Peretu City 09's Francesco Toldo got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mei Chong Kang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Peretu City 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Buhăescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francesco Toldo was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 0-2. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Mei Chong Kang came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Meesters's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francesco Toldo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Peretu City 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Neicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ştefan Buhăescu kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
