In the 22nd minute, one of Club Atlético Atlanta:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atlético Atlanta. Melquiades Salvatore had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Ziemowit Madej's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Ziemowit Madej managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astral's supporters rose to their feet, but Ziemowit Madej was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Salvatore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teobald Puch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Jaunti, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Bonifacio Cresconio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
