Melquiades Salvatore came out and tried to block the shot, but Juan Laffitte slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 11th minute. Siro Olivar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melquiades Salvatore read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Melquiades Salvatore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bonifacio Cresconio made a kick off. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Juan Laffitte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melquiades Salvatore. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melquiades Salvatore should have stopped the shot. 57 minutes into the match, Artemio Jaunti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto Gauargi. los nadies's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artemio Jaunti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. After 96 minutes, Severino Huly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Atlanta and the los nadies players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Huly to maneuver through the defense.
