The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Astral got a freekick which was hit by Remigiusz Gruchacz. With 7 minutes on the clock, Maurinho Luz commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Astral a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ziemowit Madej, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Clube Atlético Luziense's Jairo Fonseca. 2-0. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Remigiusz Gruchacz took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jairo Fonseca to make any attempt to save it. Wit Damaski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Astral getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Wit Damaski hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Antoni Badanowski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jairo Fonseca, 4-0. Wit Damaski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Fonseca having to interfere. Luciano Rodrigues took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teobald Puch. Teobald Puch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 32nd minute, Celso de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Clube Atlético Luziense booed when Astral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoni Badanowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Astral's Teobald Puch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Rodrigues in the 44th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Teobald Puch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Rodrigues in the 51st minute. Wincent Kosiorek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Fonseca having to interfere. If Gerson Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Antoni Badanowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Wit Damaski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Jairo Fonseca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antoni Badanowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Fonseca having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Geraldo de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobald Puch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Antoni Badanowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astral's supporters rose to their feet, but Antoni Badanowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
