The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabio Schneider during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 8 played minutes Austria got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Schneider. The supporters of Lakers FC booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Schneider didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 minutes, Fabinho Marquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lakers FC and the Austria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabinho Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Fabio Schneider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Corrêa having to interfere. Marvin Harrer kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Sandro Galishoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Paulão Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Cafu Barral rounded Austria's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 37th minute, Fabio Schneider got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Claudinho Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lakers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Auer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Austria's Fabio Schneider got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Álvaro Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Álvaro Paiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes Lakers FC got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Paiva. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulão Corrêa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fabio Auer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Lakers FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Austria for much of the match.
