In the 12th match minute, Vasco Ji-Paraná FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Romulo Truylos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calchaqui's supporters rose to their feet, but Romulo Truylos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Prata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Gabriel Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basilio Tano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Celsinho de Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Basilio Tano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernani Amaral in the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute of the match Vasco Ji-Paraná FC got a corner. Calchaqui's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ernani Amaral ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's corner Ernani Amaral fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Basilio Tano quite easily take care of the ball. Gabriel Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Romulo Truylos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Teofilo Ciceron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Calchaqui's Juninho Prata threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Teofilo Ciceron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gabriel Queirós might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Tano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Queirós ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 48 minutes, Ernani Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernani Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Basilio Tano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Calchaqui's goalkeeper Basilio Tano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernani Amaral. Calchaqui were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elpidio Bieito took the corner. Calchaqui's Elpidio Bieito was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Juninho Prata in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 64th minute Romulo Truylos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calchaqui were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elpidio Bieito took the corner. In the 72nd minute Teofilo Ciceron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Romulo Truylos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juninho Prata. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romulo Truylos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Didi Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Tano having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Gabriel Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Ciceron in the 87th minute of play forced Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's goalkeeper Juninho Prata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Gabriel Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute Gabriel Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Tano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernani Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Tano having to interfere. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
