The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Northern Lights booed when SCs StarS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Gol didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Thiago Gol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Başaran Ötüken. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match, Thiago Gol got a very nice opportunity to score, but Başaran Ötüken was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nurkan Gündoğan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SCs StarS defense, You Fei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petr Čech. The SCs StarS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petr Čech should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute, Co Scholten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. You Fei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Petr Čech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Özgün Serbülend hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

SCs StarS's Henk Zijden was substituted for Edgar Reitsema. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell You Fei to make the kick off. 罗松棋 kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute Florian Hekman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Başaran Ötüken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the SCs StarS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
