One of U21 Ireland:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Austria:s goal. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for U21 Austria. Robin Schriebl stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Isaac McPaul. 1-0. Adem Ferrari hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Thorsten Ternes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kieran Brennan in the 11th minute of play. U21 Austria's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Robin Schriebl in the 17th minute. Finbar Duggan kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Nico-Pascal Kapteina succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 26th playminute. In the 33rd minute, Nico-Pascal Kapteina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaac McPaul was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Nico-Pascal Kapteina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isaac McPaul having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's Jens Krammer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaac McPaul narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, U21 Ireland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Finbar Duggan to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nico-Pascal Kapteina made a kick off. Finbar Duggan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thorsten Ternes having to make a save. In the 53rdth minute of the game Robin Schriebl who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Ireland's Isaac McPaul was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute, Finbar Duggan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Finbar Duggan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the game, one of U21 Ireland:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave U21 Austria a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Robin Schriebl, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Ireland's Isaac McPaul. 5-0. U21 Austria made a substitution. Luca Divis replaced Dennis-Sven Piater. In the 71st minute, Robin Schriebl made a precise shot to the right of Isaac McPaul. U21 Ireland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 81st match minute, U21 Ireland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Babayaro Brzęczyszczykiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Jens Krammer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute, Jan Haase ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaac McPaul was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. After 88 minutes, Finbar Duggan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Ireland and the U21 Austria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Van Von Bischhoffshausen got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute, Edin Džeko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. U21 Austria had played much better football throughout.
