Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 5th minute of the match. Moise Dordea kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Juninho Pernambucano took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Casper Claes to make any attempt to save it. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Morgan Möllgren came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Juninho Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valentin Elg kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Juninho Pernambucano took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Casper Claes to make any attempt to save it. Carlo Ancelotti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Valentin Elg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Casper Claes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenny Clocheret didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juninho Pernambucano made a kick off. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Jim Njurenius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Claes should have stopped the shot. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eric Soned. That made the score 3-1 after 64 minutes of play. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Étoile Sportive Du Sahel from getting a goal against them. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radu Fetea, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Folke Vallman was substituted for Henning Ekström. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Tomasz Jakubowski was substituted for Morgan Möllgren. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valentin Elg in the 71st minute. A nice corner shot did that Moise Dordea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Casper Claes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 74th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eric Soned. The goal made the score 3-2. Nigel Devos kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Soned narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eric Soned made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 87th minute of play forced Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Ancelotti in the 88th minute of play. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Elg in the 89th minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Moise Dordea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Étoile Sportive Du Sahel and the Belgium players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Moise Dordea got a free kick in the 95th minute. Belgium's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
