Gregor Compaan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frans Geurtsen in the 5th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Springelkamp in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregor Compaan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregor Compaan saved FFC Merainies 03 from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, FFC Merainies 03's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Gregor Compaan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, FFC Merainies 03's Geert Cremers seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Geert Cremers the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FFC Merainies 03 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Geert Cremers had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 16 minutes into the game, one of FFC Merainies 03:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Netherlands. Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gregor Compaan. 0-1. 23 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregor Compaan. FFC Merainies 03's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. FFC Merainies 03's Gregor Compaan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 25th minute of play. Frans Geurtsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. Gregor Compaan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 37th minute Herbert Springelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FFC Merainies 03's Gregor Compaan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to FFC Merainies 03 getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jarne Bemmel hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarne Bemmel during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FFC Merainies 03 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarne Bemmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes FFC Merainies 03 got a freekick which was hit by Pepijn van Boxel. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gregor Compaan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FFC Merainies 03 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pepijn van Boxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. FFC Merainies 03's Gregor Compaan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 88th minute of play. When Lars Meesters fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Lars Meesters a yellow card for diving instead. Lars Meesters kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FFC Merainies 03 throughout the match.
