When Spain's Omar Toledo, in the 18th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Spain. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Vicente Merino sped through Decathlon Dudes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tadej Pogačar. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthon Melin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 minutes Spain's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Costin Moisil who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Silvester Rambo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Tadej Pogačar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aranda in the 37th minute of play. Omar Toledo got in the 39th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Tadej Pogačar handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After 39 minutes, Omar Toledo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Decathlon Dudes's Tadej Pogačar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 41 played minutes Decathlon Dudes got a freekick which was hit by Costin Moisil. In the 42nd minute David Aranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadej Pogačar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anthon Melin during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Anthon Melin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Marinus Doren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Jurado didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Henrik Larsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Gabriel Ascaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tadej Pogačar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adria Bielsa in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jonathan Criado hit a great ball. David Aranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henrik Larsson took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Ascaso. Gabriel Ascaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Spain made a substitution. Pau Herrero replaced David Aranda. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Larsson in the 82nd minute of play. Tadej Pogačar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Ruiz in the 85th minute of play. Henrik Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ascaso having to interfere. The supporters of Spain booed when Decathlon Dudes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Mendebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Jon Cubero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Larsson in the 94th minute of play. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Larsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Spain's goalie and right to Silvester Rambo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Spain's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Decathlon Dudes succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Spain had controlled the match.
