The crowd rose to their feet as Marciano Hendrickx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 11th minute of play forced Beek City's goalkeeper Rodriguinho de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Marciano Hendrickx dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim, 2-0. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Marciano Hendrickx sent off a good shot on target. If Marciano Hendrickx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heiko Sibon kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Viriato Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the game, Portugal's Viriato Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodriguinho de Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Beek City's Marciano Hendrickx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gustav Siöman, made in the 55th minute of the game. Edmundson Colling hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Rodriguinho de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Marciano Hendrickx scored 5-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 83 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Pimentel. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marciano Hendrickx in the 86th minute of play. Beek City's Rodriguinho de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 91st minute of play.
