Valdemar Pena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Valdemar Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the game, Fernandão Penha lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Tommy Kahn. Albin Holweck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Valdemar Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 26th minute. If Fernandão Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Albin Holweck came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Holweck couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Germany booed when Santos da Bahia Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Valdemar Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Albuquerque was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Santos da Bahia Fc's André Albuquerque got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Penha in the 54th minute of the match. Valdemar Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Germany's Frank Sachs dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Albin Holweck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Pena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Igor Ramalho hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Igor Ramalho's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Santos da Bahia Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Holweck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Janik Vogt hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Santos da Bahia Fc's Fernandão Penha in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Germany's goalie prevented a goal. Santos da Bahia Fc's Valdemar Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Holweck in the 86th minute of play. Santos da Bahia Fc's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Frank Sachs 87 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. The Germany players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
