Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Ömür Seyfeddin sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Ömür Seyfeddin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Roman Kon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 21st minute of play forced Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Marian Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. When Roman Kon came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Kon couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Roman Kon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn, 4-0. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Kon, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Edgar Scislowicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Kon in the 54th minute of play. Ömür Seyfeddin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Ömür Seyfeddin came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Kon in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Ömür Seyfeddin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 68 minutes, Roman Kon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Kon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Ömür Seyfeddin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Kon went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Roman Kon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Roman Kon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Marian Chilavert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Zagłębie Dąbrowskie from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Germany booed when Zagłębie Dąbrowskie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Kajetan Duszenski was substituted for Ömür Seyfeddin. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Scislowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
