The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kajetan Dec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Olaru in the 2nd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Olaru came free, but Kajetan Dec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romania's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Ömer Halisdemir scored to the left of an out of position Carol Stinga, making the score, 1-0. With his leg Carol Stinga managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Ömer Halisdemir fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kajetan Dec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Olaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Zawisza Bydgoszcz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ömer Halisdemir to maneuver through the defense. Ömer Halisdemir blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carol Stinga having to make a save. Kajetan Dec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasile Ciumak, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Kajetan Dec came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Adam Olaru. But to his dismay, Adam Olaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Kajetan Dec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sanda Cutov, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Kajetan Dec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sanda Cutov in the 43rd minute of play. Adam Olaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kajetan Dec read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Zawisza Bydgoszcz made a substitution. Kazimierz Gaszynski replaced Sixten Gernberg. With a little luck, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Kajetan Dec got control of the ball when Sanda Cutov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carol Stinga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ömer Halisdemir, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The corner was taken by Sanda Cutov in the 80th minute. Ömer Halisdemir hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Romania's Anton Stinga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kajetan Dec narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sanda Cutov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Kajetan Dec made a huge save. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Răzvan Brădean was substituted for Ömer Halisdemir. The crowd rose to their feet as Romania's Anton Stinga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kajetan Dec. That made the score 3-2 after 92 minutes of play. Kajetan Dec made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasile Ciumak in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zawisza Bydgoszcz fans cheered their team off the field, for while Romania had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
