Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filippo Gigli in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Squadra de Pippe's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Bruno Mazzone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Gust Ennemans in the 15th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Squadra de Pippe's Imre Dárdai. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 21st minute of play forced Squadra de Pippe's goalkeeper Bruno Mazzone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Filippo Gigli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Squadra de Pippe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filippo Gigli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Mazzone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Squadra de Pippe's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Filippo Gigli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. Bruno Mazzone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 37th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Filippo Gigli came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Gust Ennemans threw the ball into play from the sideline. Squadra de Pippe's Antonio Cabrini quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Bruno Mazzone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Andrea Di Carlo made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Squadra de Pippe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Abaurre to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Squadra de Pippe's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Bruno Mazzone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Squadra de Pippe's Tiberiu Balint was substituted for Javier Villarreal. In the 63rd minute, Wim Wilmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Mazzone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 71st minute. In the 71stth minute of the game Gustaaf Groeneveldt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Squadra de Pippe's Bruno Mazzone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Mazzone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th match minute, Squadra de Pippe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Abaurre to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Squadra de Pippe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Abaurre didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea Di Carlo came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Squadra de Pippe's Bruno Mazzone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 79th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 82nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Bruno Mazzone successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Andrea Di Carlo took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Gustaaf Groeneveldt hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrea Di Carlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Netherlands's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Squadra de Pippe had won, even though Netherlands had held more of the ball.
