Armando Bonelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Nygaard, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Loreto came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olav Graversen during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edoardo Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. With a left leg Keld Paulsen saved Denmark from getting behind. Kenn Skou's late challenge caught a Sorci Viola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Denmark's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arturo Di Sipio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edoardo Meo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Sorci Viola's Alvise Urbani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. When Sorci Viola's Cesare Loreto in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sorci Viola fans cheered their team off the field, for while Denmark had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
