But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adria Bielsa couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute David Aranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfü Öktemer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adria Bielsa in the 13th minute of play forced MARAZZINO's goalkeeper Lütfü Öktemer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Răducanu in the 14th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Răducanu in the 17th minute of play. MARAZZINO's Lütfü Öktemer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Toledo in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adria Bielsa in the 28th minute of play forced MARAZZINO's goalkeeper Lütfü Öktemer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lütfü Öktemer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aranda in the 31st minute of play. If David Aranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute David Aranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfü Öktemer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudiu Răducanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 44 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Sartori. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 69th minute Darío Benedetto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Carles Cherro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lütfü Öktemer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. MARAZZINO's Semih Hunalp was substituted for Dacian Zburliş. Lütfü Öktemer made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Carles Cherro sent off a good shot on target. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darío Benedetto in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, MARAZZINO's Lütfü Öktemer got control of the ball when Vicente Merino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by MARAZZINO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jon Cubero was slow to take the kick. During this time Spain's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the MARAZZINO defense, Sergio Ruiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lütfü Öktemer. The MARAZZINO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lütfü Öktemer should have stopped the shot. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Răducanu in the 93rd minute of play. The attack was good, but when Darío Benedetto in the 94th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darío Benedetto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Spain left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MARAZZINO.
