Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zhao Yao Ying was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Guo Han Di showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Holweck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Sachs kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Zhao Yao Ying scored 3-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 21 in the game by Zhao Yao Ying from a close distance when the talented Tommy Kahn managed to make a qualified save. Germany's players were relieved. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Guo Han Di, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zhao Yao Ying recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Janik Vogt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Guo Han Di reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Schiele to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zhao Yao Ying in the 39th minute. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippo Bobbio in the 44th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 46th minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Guo Han Di to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. The referee showed Sven Krakouer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Johannes Willig came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Oldham Athletic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johannes Willig couldn't finish the play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Yao Ying in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. 64 minutes into the game, Zhao Yao Ying cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Adrian Dreifuss fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Adrian Dreifuss a yellow card for diving instead. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Oldham Athletic made a substitution. Sune Axelsson replaced Cristian-Federico Dolić. In the 94th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Yao Ying in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Oldham Athletic fully deserved thier win.
