Mihnea Ionițoiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 47th minute of play forced Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Olimpiu Hârlău to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Carpathian Wolves's David Trăistaru got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Wim Wilmes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carpathian Wolves's Olimpiu Hârlău was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Olimpiu Hârlău quite easily take care of the ball. After 64 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. In the 64th minute of the match Mugur Timofte shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Maxim Urderean scored 2-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olimpiu Hârlău stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 76th minute Maxim Urderean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maxim Urderean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carpathian Wolves's Olimpiu Hârlău played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th minute Mugur Timofte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Carpathian Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Olimpiu Hârlău reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olimpiu Hârlău stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
