The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Silva during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. CON-E-CO's Teofilo Corrillos was substituted for Fabricio Masseda. Romano Arenal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oriche Galdamiz took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavinho Reis. Flavinho Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Rossi in the 25th minute of play forced CON-E-CO's goalkeeper Carlomagno Agüero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romano Arenal, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Humberto Rossi scored 2-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlomagno Agüero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 39 minutes of play CE LAJEADENSE RS's Paulo Silva was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 40 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Silva. Marcelino Chirghentino kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Flavinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romano Arenal in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Eliézer Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Humberto Rossi's late challenge caught a CON-E-CO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Rossi. 48 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Romano Arenal came free, but Flavinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romano Arenal to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to CE LAJEADENSE RS getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Marcinho das Neves hit a great ball. Humberto Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Bartolome Rosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Flavinho Reis. CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Flavinho Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oriche Galdamiz in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Humberto Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Xulio Balado in the 64th minute of play was well struck, but Flavinho Reis made a really good save at the right post. 66 minutes into the game, CON-E-CO's Garin Cañizares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavinho Reis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The supporters of CON-E-CO booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romano Arenal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Reis having to interfere. After some careless play in the CON-E-CO defense, Eliézer Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlomagno Agüero. The CON-E-CO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlomagno Agüero should have stopped the shot. The supporters of CON-E-CO booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, CON-E-CO's Teofilo Corrillos got a free kick in the 87th minute.
