The crowd rose to their feet as Artemio Jaunti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Samuca Freitas. That made the score 1-1 in the 30 minute of play. In the 34th minute José Vítor Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Salvatore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, José Vítor Marinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Melquiades Salvatore was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Huly got free with Samuca Freitas in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 55th minute, Bonifacio Cresconio made a precise shot to the right of Samuca Freitas. BRASIL.Sp's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After 59 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Barbosa. When Teobaldo Milian fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Teobaldo Milian a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. In the 74th minute, Teobaldo Milian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore got control of the ball when Paulinho Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Atlético Atlanta were furious when Anacleto Admon was red carded, 77 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Atlético Atlanta! Gildo Nogueira scored 2-4 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melquiades Salvatore, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when BRASIL.Sp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Donato Nalo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuca Freitas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Paulinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Atlanta's zone, Gildo Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Salvatore came out of the goal and Gildo Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Although Club Atlético Atlanta had been in control for most of the match, BRASIL.Sp still came away with the win.
