Arà Lucas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Magic is Back's Martin Palermo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saul Suarez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes Quitilipi got a freekick which was hit by Arà Lucas. In the 19th match minute, Quitilipi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primeiro Mancina to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Trobbiani took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Saul Suarez. Quitilipi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Quitilipi's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Palermo came free, but Saul Suarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Quitilipi's Saul Suarez. Saul Suarez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 27th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arà Lucas in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ruben Sánchez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Magic is Back's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inocencio Lartaun in the 37th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Martin Palermo put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Saul Suarez. Saul Suarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Arà Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quitilipi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arà Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Magic is Back were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
50 minutes into the match, Quitilipi's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Potente came free, but Saul Suarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 52nd minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 minutes Quitilipi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcelo Trobbiani who took care of the corner kick. Saul Suarez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Palermo in the 53rd minute. Magic is Back's Martin Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Martin Palermo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Magic is Back's Gabi Batistuta was substituted for Osvaldo Potente. In the 69th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Palermo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Suarez having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Magic is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabi Batistuta to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes Quitilipi got a freekick which was hit by ArĂ Lucas. Martin Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saul Suarez having to make a save. Saul Suarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saul Suarez stood somewhat misplaced when Martin Palermo came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 86 minute. With his leg Saul Suarez managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Magic is Back's Martin Palermo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quitilipi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelo Trobbiani was slow to take the kick. During this time Magic is Back's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gabi Batistuta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Saul Suarez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 92 played minutes Martin Palermo could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-6 into the left cross. After a defensive mix-up in Quitilipi's zone, Martin Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saul Suarez came out of the goal and Martin Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Magic is Back were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Quitilipi side.
