Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigfrido Auletta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ter Stegen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Robert Matthews, made in the 24th minute of the game. 26 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Rigan Frankson came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Porziano Marchitelli's late challenge caught a 1948 MKS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Porziano Marchitelli helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Porziano Marchitelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torrey Molloy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Flavio Vittori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Italy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than 1948 MKS.
