With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mainor Coronado in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artur Boruc saved Poland from getting behind. Frank Mora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damazy Joks in the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Lech Pisarcik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Mora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Calvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Boruc having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damazy Joks was the one to do the kick off. Artur Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Badilla in the 52nd minute of play. When Costa Rica's Miguel Campos in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Poland's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilbert Ugalde in the 96th minute of play forced Poland's goalkeeper Artur Boruc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
