Nofre Amorebieta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, UE Cornella's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Nofre Amorebieta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nofre Amorebieta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 21st minute of play forced UE Cornella's goalkeeper Nofre Amorebieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, UE Cornella's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Nofre Amorebieta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UE Cornella's Nofre Amorebieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 26th minute of play. Segundo Casco hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the UE Cornella defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nofre Amorebieta. The UE Cornella fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nofre Amorebieta should have stopped the shot. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nofre Amorebieta. Nofre Amorebieta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Vegetti in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of UE Cornella booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijn Doctor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. In the 58th minute, Lars Meesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nofre Amorebieta having to interfere. Nofre Amorebieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by UE Cornella's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. In the 74th minute, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Nofre Amorebieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 77th minute of play. Nofre Amorebieta made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 83rd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of UE Cornella's goalie and right to Lars Meesters. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. UE Cornella's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Nofre Amorebieta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 86th minute of the match. In the 86th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nofre Amorebieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. UE Cornella's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nofre Amorebieta quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
