Wilson Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Levan Dost showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. Farid Mondragon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 17th minute of play forced 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's goalkeeper Farid Mondragon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Levan Dost might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Levan Dost ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levan Dost in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. İbrahim Kerdiğe hit a great ball. In the 20th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Farid Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Mondragon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Barreto took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Farid Mondragon. Farid Mondragon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Leonides Xacintu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Daniel Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Farid Mondragon came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Viriato Moura. But to his dismay, Viriato Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 46th minute, Leonides Xacintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Levan Dost to make the kick off. Farid Mondragon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Levan Dost managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's supporters rose to their feet, but Levan Dost was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's Farid Mondragon got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Aigar Ojaperv threw the ball into play from the sideline. In the 76th minute, Levan Dost ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB's Farid Mondragon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB from getting a goal against them. If Daniel Pimentel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The 1stanbuL FootbaLL CluB fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
