With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wim Wilmes in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremie Van Nel saved C.F Intercity from getting behind. Olivar Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 42nd minute of play forced C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Jeremie Van Nel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kees Mooiweer to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Bas Tuitert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremie Van Nel having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, C.F Intercity was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Stamp to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Jeremie Van Nel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Zamora in the 76th minute of play. Olivar Ribeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Gust Ennemans hit a great ball. Olivar Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Wilmes to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute, Olivar Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
