Phil Vine was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Andorra's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Todd Kidd managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Kerry Flöter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Santa Tecla made a huge save. In the 13th minute Mainor Calderon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santa Tecla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kerry Flöter got free with Santa Tecla in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olger Azofeifa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Fowler in the 17th minute of play. Olger Azofeifa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damien Fowler in the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, U21 Costa Rica's Paul Fonseca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paul Fonseca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paul Fonseca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! Santa Tecla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Mena in the 25th minute of the match. Olger Azofeifa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Fowler in the 44th minute of play. Olger Azofeifa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damien Fowler, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damien Fowler to strike the kick off in the second half. Olger Azofeifa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Fowler in the 52nd minute of play. U21 Costa Rica's Olger Azofeifa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Gilchrist in the 64th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Damien Fowler took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Olger Azofeifa to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute Damien Fowler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olger Azofeifa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damien Fowler's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Olger Azofeifa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Olger Azofeifa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Gilchrist went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Olger Azofeifa made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Lucas Gilchrist sent off a good shot on target. After 86 minutes U21 Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Phil Vine who took care of the corner kick. Phil Vine made a great header on U21 Andorra's corner, it was just that U21 Costa Rica's Olger Azofeifa managed to reach the ball for a save. When Damien Fowler, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 87 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Olger Azofeifa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, U21 Costa Rica's Olger Azofeifa got control of the ball when Lucas Gilchrist tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Andorra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
