The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Assyriska-Syrianska's goal looked a bit too open when Takacs Tibor came free, but Karl-Michael Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gösta Åström's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sören Löfkvist got free with Fodor Daniel in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl-Michael Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Hungary's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Christer Häll scored to the left of an out of position Fodor Daniel, making the score, 1-0. Karl-Michael Eriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takacs Tibor in the 16th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Major Barna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Michael Eriksson was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. The Hungary fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Hungary's Antal Valentin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 35th minute of the match, Christer Häll tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fodor Daniel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Karl-Michael Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Balazs Lajos in the 38th minute of play. Karl-Michael Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balazs Lajos, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Assyriska-Syrianska's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. Assyriska-Syrianska's Karl-Michael Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boros Benedek in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antal Valentin was the one to do the kick off. Karl-Michael Eriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Assyriska-Syrianska getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Måns Höijer hit a great ball. With his leg Karl-Michael Eriksson managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Hungary's Balazs Lajos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hungary's Balazs Lajos was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Karl-Michael Eriksson in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Assyriska-Syrianska's Karl-Michael Eriksson got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Major Barna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
