In the 19th match minute, Henley on Thames United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Longthorn to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute, Dominican Republic's Henry Costa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carl Houghton in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesús Caminero saved Dominican Republic from getting behind. When Devon Hook fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Henley on Thames United's protests and gave Devon Hook a yellow card for diving instead. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Alvar Ponce sped through Henley on Thames United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sofoklis Prinianakis. Jesús Caminero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Iovanovici in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Henry Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sofoklis Prinianakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesús Caminero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Houghton in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
