AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Ekaitz in the 33rd minute of play. After 36 played minutes Hermosillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Wydrych. Valdir Martins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Samuel Evarado. Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Mauricio Ekaitz made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Salles in the 57th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Samuel Evarado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
