After 27 played minutes Corralito AFC got a freekick which was hit by Andres Iniesta. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Newell´s from getting a goal against them. Ramon Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ioan Agachi in the 34th minute of the match. Valentin Quinto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Cristobal Estavan made a huge save. Ramon Lopez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ioan Agachi's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Bebeto Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andres Iniesta hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 59th match minute, Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Umea to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Ioan Agachi took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Ramon Lopez to make any attempt to save it. When Bebeto Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Corralito AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bebeto Chaves couldn't finish the play. Ramon Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioan Agachi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Chaves in the 92nd minute of play.
