Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Florencio Villegas got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Villegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gust Ennemans made in the 6th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gustaaf Groeneveldt however managed to control. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Villegas having to interfere. Cornelio Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cornelio Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cornelio Villegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Villegas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 35 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathijn Doctor hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Florencio Villegas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Netherlands were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Gijsbert ter Kruimer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Villegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Florencio Villegas struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavaliers FC. Cornelio Villegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 87 minutes of play, Cavaliers FC's Jeremias Sandalio made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kees Mooiweer made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cavaliers FC's Pastor Etxeberri. Cavaliers FC's Cornelio Villegas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Cavaliers FC from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cavaliers FC throughout the match.
