After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Claudio-Paul Caniggia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Pucho's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio-Paul Caniggia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Józef Mlynarczyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 28th minute of play forced Deportivo Pucho's goalkeeper Józef Mlynarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Tolino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romulo Brun hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute of the match Antal Valentin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Józef Mlynarczyk skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Józef Mlynarczyk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute of the match Dan Holm shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fodor Daniel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 83 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Antal Valentin. 87 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Östen Stor came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 92 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antal Valentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Östen Stor struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Pucho.
