Feliberto Ipar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lobos de Carelia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Lobos de Carelia's Feliberto Ipar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Lobos de Carelia from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Feliberto Ipar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Many of Netherlands's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Netherlands may have spent more time on the ball, but Lobos de Carelia were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
