The supporters of FC PIETROSUL -MM- booed when Minerul Baita -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Claude didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute Sever Crăiniceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Maghiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Nistor Maghiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Teodoroiu in the 5th minute of play. Nistor Maghiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Iacobescu in the 7th minute of play. Ionuț Vasiliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nistor Maghiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viorel Iacobescu in the 10th minute of the match. Ionică Bădilescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Alexe, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Teodoroiu in the 16th minute of play forced Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Nistor Maghiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Emil Ştoia came free, but Nistor Maghiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nistor Maghiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Iacobescu in the 32nd minute of play. Nistor Maghiar came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Aurelian Odobescu. But to his dismay, Aurelian Odobescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ionică Bădilescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Shearer in the 37th minute of play. Nistor Maghiar came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Emil Ştoia. But to his dismay, Emil Ştoia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian was substituted for Aurel Teodoroiu. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Allan Shearer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Filip Braia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Cristi Ciprian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nistor Maghiar. Minerul Baita -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristi Ciprian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 60 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Nistor Maghiar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristi Ciprian. Octav Albescu kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 63 played minutes Minerul Baita -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Octav Albescu. 67 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Ciprian came free, but Nistor Maghiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionică Bădilescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Alexe, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emil Ştoia got free with Nistor Maghiar in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute Ciprian Alexe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Bădilescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Odobescu came free, but Nistor Maghiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nistor Maghiar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emil Ştoia's late challenge caught a Minerul Baita -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emil Ştoia helped the player get up and apologised. Emil Ştoia hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Xalo Camara was substituted for Gordon Miner. Emil Ştoia hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The FC PIETROSUL -MM- supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC PIETROSUL -MM- would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
