The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Zhao Sen Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Zenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 7th minute of the match. Eugeniusz Mochowak was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, one of Scorpions -MM-:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Scorpions -MM-. After some careless play in the Scorpions -MM- defense, Olov Ahlbeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Zenga. The Scorpions -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Zenga should have stopped the shot. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Bernardo Di Piazza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dan Tinu in the 22 minute of the game. In the 24thth minute of the game Zhao Sen Yang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zhao Sen Yang spun around in front of the goal 24 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Scorpions -MM-'s goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Zenga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zhao Sen Yang might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walter Zenga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Zenga saved Scorpions -MM- from getting behind. In the 67th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Tilea to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. After 75 minutes, Zhao Sen Yang made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
