Emilian Feteanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Major Barna got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emilian Feteanu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Jorginho Queiroz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fodor Daniel. That made the score 1-1 in the 37 minute of play. Fodor Daniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Liviu Drăgan in the 42nd minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Queiroz in the 51st minute of play. Jorginho Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. Hungary's Major Barna got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tiberiu Dulgherescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Emilian Feteanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Trzenzalski in the 87th minute of play. Katona Janos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Politehnica Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Cărtărescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emilian Feteanu made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Queiroz came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hegedus Henrik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
