Bruno Bray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. After 12 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Bray was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 14 played minutes En avant de guingamp got a freekick which was hit by Maelgwn Le Meur. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Bray. Bruno Bray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 26 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of En avant de guingamp's Bruno Bray. Bruno Bray was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gustaaf Groeneveldt took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Bray. Bruno Bray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 32nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Bruno Bray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, En avant de guingamp's Guy Cordeau got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Djamel Berlémont, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Guy Cordeau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Bray. That made the score 0-6 in the 51 minute of play. Bruno Bray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute of play. Renan Charon kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Bray didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lars Meesters went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. 61 minutes into the match, En avant de guingamp's goalkeeper Bruno Bray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sped through En avant de guingamp's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bruno Bray. Bruno Bray was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Gijsbert ter Kruimer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. En avant de guingamp's Bruno Bray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save En avant de guingamp from getting a goal against them. After 81 minutes En avant de guingamp's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Lars Meesters advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-10 in the 81st minute. Wim Wilmes kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 86 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Bray was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute of play forced En avant de guingamp's goalkeeper Bruno Bray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after En avant de guingamp's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bruno Bray quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gust Ennemans got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Netherlands played a much better game than En avant de guingamp and deserved their victory. The En avant de guingamp players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
