France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 14th minute. A hard shot 16 in the game by Iurie Miclescu from a close distance when the talented Maxime Durand managed to make a qualified save. France's players were relieved. 22 minutes into the game, Kasper Ververs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rapid Bucharest's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave France the free kick. Kasper Ververs kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Beržas Lideika showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Peletier, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iurie Miclescu got free with Maxime Durand in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Camille Baume shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beržas Lideika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iurie Miclescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Maxime Durand made a huge save. Maxime Durand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boguslaw Furgat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rapid Bucharest booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Beaux didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iurie Miclescu made a kick off. A collision led to Rapid Bucharest getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Kasper Ververs hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the match, Rapid Bucharest's goalkeeper Beržas Lideika had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Camille Baume. Maxime Durand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Miclescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Miclescu in the 59th minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes of play, Rapid Bucharest's Iurie Miclescu made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maxime Durand was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of France booed when Rapid Bucharest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Iosifian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Boguslaw Furgat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Rapid Bucharest's Alex Baciu got a free kick in the 65th minute. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Remy Dupuy hit a great ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Iurie Miclescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Bucharest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iurie Miclescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. France's Camille Baume quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alex Baciu, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Alex Baciu made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Kasper Ververs. Beržas Lideika took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camille Baume, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camille Baume's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Beržas Lideika read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After 85 played minutes Rapid Bucharest got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Furgat. The audience was convinced that Iurie Miclescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the France players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Rapid Bucharest.
