Celta de Virgos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Porziano Marchitelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 10th minute of play. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Zena Busacca with Porziano Marchitelli as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Italy getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sigfrido Auletta hit a great ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benny Niva to make the kick off. Porziano Marchitelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Zacarias Ascencio made a huge save. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Celta de Virgos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. 57 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Italy's Porziano Marchitelli got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarias Ascencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guiscardo Davide in the 95th minute of the match. 95 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Italy's Guiscardo Davide fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head.
